Personal safety and sexual assault prevention, which are huge concerns.

COVID-19 has added even more risks including:
Staying connected and avoiding isolation while practicing social distancing
Avoiding falling behind acadmically, socially, and professionally
Staying safe online as the threat of cyber-harassment increases
Remaining well and keeping those around them healthy

In the Staying Safe Workshop, we will work directly with your young adult to create a plan to:
manage stress and anxiety
stay safe and feel connected while socially distancing
remain safe and build healthy relationships
Logistics:
Tonya and Amy will lead two sessions over two days. There will be opportunities to learn, discuss topics with their peers, and reflect while being guided by expert facilitators.

Workshop Facilitators
Dr. Tonya Crombie is a the best-selling author of Stop Worrying About your Anxious Child and is a certified life coach who likes nothing better than helping parents manage their children's and their own anxiety. Tonya has an MBA and a doctorate in Industrial/Organizational psychology. She is also the mom of two teenagers who have had their own struggles with anxiety. All of her work as a coach, speaker, writer, and facilitator is informed by her experience as a parent and her desire to help young people manage and thrive in the high-pressure, stressful world in which we live.
Amy Carpenter, LCSW has worked for twenty-five years as a psychotherapist, youth worker, writer, and life coach. Her latest book, Be Strong, Be Wise in the Age of #MeToo, and the Be Strong, Be Wise Safety Education Program, teach sexual safety and risk reduction in a way that helps students feel informed rather than afraid. The program is based on her work with high schools and colleges and organizations such as Mainely Girls and Girls Inc. Be Strong, Be Wise incorporates the tools that build self-knowledge and confidence, supporting healthy relationships for young people from all walks of life.
